"It's the sense of touch. In any real city, you walk, you know? You brush past people, people bump into you. In L.A., nobody touches you. We're always behind this metal and glass. I think we miss that touch so much, that we crash into each other, just so we can feel something."
I think Crash has to be one of my all-time favorite movies. It takes a real gift to be able to reach so many people in one film. Crash digs into some of the most controversial stereotypes of our time. It makes us examine our own thought processes and prejudices. We all hate to admit it, but we all have our moments of bigotry and racism. Its hard to pass a day without labeling someone or something based on the stereotypes we've been taught and have come to accept. Crash depicts the outcome of those deep-rooted biases and challenges us to overcome them. Are we strong enough? Change needs to happen and it has to start in our homes, in our families, in ourselves.
"Everyone's a little bit racist sometimes... Look around and you will find no one's really color blind..."

Alright, now that Im done ranting, heres my real post.....
I want to thank Julie for reopening my eyes to The Juliana Theory. <3.
Summer is winding down. College is approaching quickly. All I can think about is how much I love my friends and how blessed I am to have them in my life.
~ Becky, I miss you. You always find a way to make me smile. Even when I dont want to. Youre one of my best and closest friends. I love you.
~ Julie, you are a great listener and a loyal friend. Umm I kinda love you a lot.
~ Quinn, youve been there for me for as long as I can remember. Thank you.
~ Ashley, we've been through so much together and words cant express how much you mean to me.
~ Rose, oh Rosie youve always been there when I needed you.
~ Grant, we've had an interesting few months. Whether you know it or not you give the best advice and youre someone I feel comfortable talking to.
~ Preston, you are a goofball, but youre a great listener. Even though at times you're slightly awkward.......... uh ........ yeah.
~ Jared, this summer was amazing with you even though it ended badly. Im just happy to know that I still have someone I can talk to. You know more about me than most people.
I have so much more that I want to say, but I dont think that a stupid blog can express how Im feeling. Im leaving for college in 16 days. Im not ready to leave but I know its my time to go. I love you all and Ill be taking a piece of all of you with me. Let's make these last few weeks together special.
All of my love, Libby
I'll leave you with one of my favorite songs........
I've heard there was a secret chord That David played, and it pleased the Lord But you don't really care for music, do you? It goes like this The fourth, the fifth The minor fall, the major lift The baffled king composing Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Your faith was strong but you needed proof You saw her bathing on the roof Her beauty in the moonlight overthrew you She tied you To a kitchen chair She broke your throne, she cut your hair And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Maybe I've been here before I know this room, I've walked this floor I used to live alone before I knew you I've seen your flag on the marble arch love is not a victory march It's a cold and it's a broken hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah
There was a time you'd let me know What's real and going on below But now you never show it to me do you? Remember when I moved in you? The holy dark was moving too And every breath we drew was hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Maybe there's a God above And all I ever learned from love Was how to shoot at someone who outdrew you It's not a cry you can hear at night It's not somebody who's seen the light It's a cold and it's a broken hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah |
